This guide assumes you know how to use your Hive keys
When creating your account, you will receive:
1 Master Password
4 pairs of Private and Public keys (owner, active, posting and memo)
Your Master Password should never be used unless you have to recover your account Your Owner private Key should never be used unless you want to change your other keys
For more information about Hive keys, please check out the Hive FAQ.
This guide assumes you are on desktop and have Hive Keychain installed
One way to securely store and use your keys is to install Hive Keychain. It is a browser extension that allows you to manage your Hive account(s) seamlessly from your desktop.
With the Keychain extension, you can keep your private keys encrypted locally on your device. Once you’ve done that, you can log into Hive applications and perform blockchain operations without re-entering your private keys.
Hive Keychain is not yet available on mobile. Therefore, you may need to use Hivesigner to perform Hive blockchain operations from your mobile. However, please keep in mind this guide doesn't cover how to use Hivesigner.
This guide assumes you know how to log in and navigate at least one of the following Hive front-ends
